OUR APPROACH

Our approach is based on three underlying principals:
  • Building internal capabilities for our clients provides them with lasting value.
  • Leveraging difference leads to more engaged employees, stronger teams, and more productive organizations.
  • A coaching approach that focuses on thinking and change supports individual growth and accountability.

Build Internal Capability

"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime."
~ Lao Tzu

The lesson of this Chinese proverb is key to our approach in working with clients. Our goal is to build capability, giving people the tools and resources they need not only to solve the immediate problem at hand, but also to continue to succeed in the future.

At Beth Tracy Consulting, we work with you to build your organization's internal capability and create programs that are sustainable and fit within your organizational culture. We create train-the-trainer programs with the potential for wide impact. Using this approach at Johnson & Johnson, Beth Tracy trained 175+ facilitators to conduct employee development workshops for 4000+ employees.

Leverage Difference

Is difference a source of strength
or a source of conflict for your team?

During the autumn in certain parts of the world, individual leaves turn shades of brilliant red, golden yellow and sunny orange. The different colors in each leaf work together to produce the beauty of fall. Each leaf is beautiful on its own and when complemented by the colors of other leaves, the scenery is breathtaking.

Our goal in working with you is to help difference be a source of strength for your team and organization. We look at difference through a broad lens; it may be related to culture, working style, race, gender, age, functional background, country of origin, and many other characteristics that help shape who we are and how we approach our work. Depending on your needs, we will facilitate workshops or design programs that will help you leverage the differences within your groups to increase employee engagement and improve productivity.

Focus on Thinking - A Coaching Approach

Our definition of coaching is "supporting positive change by facilitating thinking, promoting action, and encouraging individual accountability."

We use a coaching approach whether we are engaged in one-on-one coaching, team building, or workshop facilitation. Learning and change occur when individuals have time to think about material as it is presented and reflect on how it relates to their own situation. We help people reach new insights and discover solutions through thoughtful questions and reflection. We facilitate learning by inviting participants to ask themselves questions: How does this apply to me? How can I take this learning further? What do I need to do with this information? When participants take the time to answer these questions, they have taken the first step in learning, development, and change.
